I Wish I Were...

In the middle of an island, in the middle of an ocean.....

Which way are you heading?! Cheers! #Caribbean #Travel

"...There is a good kind of waiting which doesn’t put oneself on hold but rather adds layers to the grandness of one’s being worthy. This sweet waiting for one’s fruits to ripen doesn’t stumble over itself to be the first to give but waits for the giving to issue at its own graceful pace." --2014 © Toko-pa Turner

TONY BENNETT
"In The Middle Of An Island"
(Nick Acquaviva and Ted Varnick)

In the middle of an island
In the middle of the ocean
You and I beneath the moonlight
With just the monkeys and the palm trees

In the middle of an island
When it's time to do some kissin'
Plenty time for lotsa lovin'
And walkin' barefoot in the sand

Though there's no island at all
Just a picture on my wall
My darlin', how I wish we could be
(I wish that we could be)

In the middle of an island
In the middle of the ocean
You and I forever, darlin'
In a paradise for two
(In a paradise for two)

Though there's no island at all
Just a picture on my wall
My darlin', how I wish we could be
(I wish that we could be)

In the middle of an island
In the middle of the ocean
You and I forever, darlin'
In a paradise for two
(In the middle of the ocean)
(On an island kissin' you)

  1. Any escape is great Diane, but this one especially! Great minds think alike. ;)

I think I'll need to come back and visit this again, lol.

  2. hehehe, look at those flamingos. Jess would love that. Oh, I wish I was in the middle of an island right now too, Diane. These pictures are so beautiful with the palm trees and the cool drinks. And the wave one made me smile, as my husband and son are surfers, and I think they always will be.

Let's dream together, friend. Loved the music. It's always a delight to visit with you.

    love, ~Sheri

  5. Oh boy. If you could have seen where I was last week...well, it was just like these pictures! Turquoise water, palm trees, tropical drinks...the whole bit! This week I've been doing nothing but wishing I could go back in time! Coming home to MN weather was just painful!
Thank you for this post, and the yummy drink recipe! I'll be making it for sure!
    Think Spring! :) Erica

  7. And here I'm half-dreading spring's arrival because it means summer is coming for me. :p

Wouldn't mind visiting the beach though. I haven't been to one in a long time, but the beaches closest to us aren't exactly beautiful. (Galveston is ugly, and Port Aransas or Corpus Christi are just okay). By far, some of the prettiest beaches on earth are in the Destin, Florida area. (I never understood why people in the US spend so much money visiting beaches in other countries when we already have such gorgeous beaches in Florida).

Anyway, I know you must be freezing so stay bundled up. I promise you spring will be here sooner than you think.

  13. How lovely Diane, I think we are all longing for some sunshine, although we are lucky in that we just have rain (again) not snow, thank goodness! Have a perfect week, Barbara.
